I can't believe I'm about to share my Faster Way To Fat Loss (FWTFL) journey with all of you but this post is my commitment to myself to maintaining a positive mental mindset and eventually to share my before and afters…EVENTUALLY :) In the meantime, I feel compelled to share in what I truly believe may be the best, easiest and transformational way to create a lifelong healthy lifestyle with lots of support but honestly not a lot of complicated processes. Really! I promise.
At 51 and in perimenopause (dang, it sucks getting old), I have packed on the pounds. Having always been on the underweight side of the scale, I struggled to gain weight, and it was unbelievable to me that weight can sneak up on you so quickly. So, here is my first bit of advice, when your wise elders (in my case, my mom) tells you that "everything starts to change after 40, start making healthy habits now", take them seriously!
When my friend introduced me to The Faster Way to Fat Loss plan, I had already started my journey to a healthier me, but it was sporadic. I had lost some weight and had managed to keep it off by some miracle, but I still had a long way to go to meet my goals and was at a stalemate. I wasn't motivated, a bit frustrated; the weight wasn't just falling off after stalling out following a Keto plan. However, I never understood the macro thing entirely, which probably significantly affected my results. So, when my friend told me about the program, I have to be honest, I was skeptical. Of course, I could see with my own eyes the changes in my friend, and they were impressive, but I am not one to have to spend a lot of time on details; I need a guide with specifics and a plan and not a lot of required extra work to help me stay on track. So I asked a BUNCH of questions and checked out the deets HERE and decided, why not! I think this could work. And it did.
I was already making many dietary changes before adopting the FWTFL, but I wasn't doing them correctly. The FWTFL app and resources helped me plan and plan the right way. While this is NOT a Keto diet (you still get lots o carbs if you wish), I learned about macros, intermittent fasting, and how to eat each day accordingly for optimal results. Easy peasy. And I love that they utilize My Fitness Pal. FINALLY, I am using it advantageously and religiously with ease.
What I wasn't doing was exercising consistently. In full disclosure, I hate sweating. With four kids and owning and operating several businesses with my husband, sitting down at my computer and checking off my to-do list first thing in the morning is always more appealing than working out. But when I realized all the workouts they provided were not only fun but fast, 30 minutes or less, it was a no-brainer. Even I can commit to 30 minutes a day! The FWTFL team makes it almost impossible NOT to work out as they have something for everyone. Whether you are working out at home, the gym or need a low-impact alternative, there is a plan for you and all of them can be taken on the road with you via the app!

My biggest struggle in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and if I had to guess it is the same for many of you reading this, was my love/hate relationship with my scale. The FWTFL team hones in on "non-scale victories" as your primary motivation. I never realized just how much that damn scale was affecting my mental mindset. If the dial didn't move, I was way more likely to say "forget it" and eat that carb-loaded comfort meal and then hate myself after. If the dial did move, I would eat less to see the scale keep moving downward—not a good strategy. What I found is I can eat WAY more than I was on the FWTFL plan and still drop inches and feel better. Who knew? It probably seems like a no-brainer to most of you, but when you have never had to worry about weight, you really can be clueless about how to go about meeting your healthy goals.
I am now starting my second 6 weeks in the VIP program, and even with vacations and a few setbacks, I am continuing to lose inches, my clothes fit better, and I have more energy! My scale probably misses me, but I have committed to only weighing and measuring myself once every six weeks. It has done wonders in keeping me focused on my goals and maintaining a positive mental mindset. ![]()

I'm gifting a few more tips that worked for me in hopes that they will help you meet and exceed your goals after joining FWTFL. Enjoy!
Pre-Plan meals. You can see some of my favorite make-ahead meals, snacks, and ideas here. I usually pick one day a month to make ahead entree's to freeze for the month. Each week I cut up fruits and veggies and pre-packaged nuts and other snacks to grab and go. Invest in the paid version of My Fitness Pal (MFP). Why? It allows you to pre-set all of your macros by day of the week. For optimal results, The FWTFL program sets different goals for different days, and knowing exactly how many carbs, proteins, and healthy fats you need is imperative to success. One of the best tips was from my FWTFL coach was to pre-load meals in MFP. For example, I may load snacks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner that I plan to eat on Monday. It's much easier to see what you need more or less if you do it at the beginning of the day and adjust changes accordingly. If I didn't eat something, I deleted it and added the alternative that ensured I was closer to making my Carb, Protein, and Fat goals. Buy a watch! Find one that works for you that tracks your steps. My husband Dave and I love this Garmin. It reminds you to MOVE, tracks sleep, exercise, and more. Invest in Healthy to Go Snacks. We spend a lot of time watching our daughter play softball, and having these healthy alternatives makes it difficult for me to grab an unhealthy ballpark snack. Although, who am I kidding, ballpark hot dogs are still tempting. You can find all of our family fav's here. Give yourself, Grace. Really! It's okay. If you have a setback, don't beat yourself up. We all make mistakes, permit yourself to be human, and make a concerted effort to do better tomorrow. After all, this isn't a race; it's a long-term change in your lifestyle, your mental mindset, and your overall happiness and health! Sharing is caring. Dave and I love inspiring stories to keep our readers and ourselves motivated. We would love to hear from you! Drop us a comment or follow us on your favorite social media platform. Cheers!
