As school gets back into full swing this month I find myself at least attempting to get my ducks in a row. I was perusing our Clean and Organize Pinterest board for inspiration and stumbled upon many timesaving hacks we’ve tried and tested that I thought I’d share them with you. They work!
Let’s talk about WD-40. This stuff is like liquid gold and has hundreds of uses! Sure, it will fix that squeaky door hinge but did you know WD-40 is also a stain remover and a toilet bowl cleaner? It takes crayon off walls and removes gum...and yes even from your child’s hair (don’t ask me how I know). This timesaving hack can save your sanity:)
I love pretty bottles like those that hold pimento spread or Frappuccino. I find multiple uses for them well after their contents are gone. To remove the labels a Magic Eraser is so much quicker than the old peanut butter trick. These nifty little cleaning machines also remove permanent marker, safe to use to clean your keyboard and the external shell of your laptop (not the screen) and to clean your iron. Grab your favorite Kraft spreads here and start crafting after eating all the deliciousness inside the jar. We love ours on celery and peppers but crackers are always a win as well. Laundry is my least favorite chore. These hacks save my sanity. Write on your washer with a dry-erase marker as a reminder of what doesn’t go in the dryer. De-wrinkle clothes by throwing them in with a few ice cubes, the steam from the ice get the wrinkles out in minutes. Stack clean shirts in a pile, grab your hangers and fold each item down once the hanger is in place. Trust me this is a life-saver.
Invest in sealable plastic ware to store your pantry items. This saves precious space and time locating what you need. We use dry erase markers to label each container. Below are a few of our favorites. Give them a try.
Tension rods are used in our home under the sink to hang bottles for daily clean-up. We use them in the garage, screwing two curtain rod brackets to the wall to store garbage bags and shop towels. Add S hooks and galvanized buckets with handles to store tools, or anything from kid's toys to craft supplies. Your time is precious and your family important so go ahead, try a few of these time-savers every minute counts. As always we love to hear from you so if you have a cleaning or organizing tip or trick please share them with us.
